Barry Hersh represents individuals and employers in all or most areas of employment law. Our law firm also represents independent contractors in overtime pay misclassification disputes. But, from time to time, the law firm is asked to assist a prospective client in an area where we do not offer our services. To help you save time, we’ve made a hard list of the areas where we don’t offer our services. The law firm does not represent:

  • Public employees – individuals employed by a city, county, state, or federal government, a school district/ISD, a public college or university, a police department, a sheriff’s department, etc.; or
  • Public employers.

In addition, the law firm does not represent individuals in the following kinds of disputes:

  • COVID-19 vaccination disputes;
  • Workers compensation benefit disputes;
  • Unemployment benefits disputes;
  • Social security benefits disputes;
  • ERISA denial-of-benefits claims;
  • Housing discrimination claims and other non-employment-related claims;
  • Workplace injuries;
  • Workplace negligence suits;
  • Work-related defamation, slander, or libel claims;
  • Disputes where an individual was treated unfairly but not unlawfully; and
  • Any claims against a city, county, state, or federal government or any governmental affiliate.

Finally, the law firm generally does not respond to inquiries when all requested information has not been furnished.
